Good book, good format, very exciting parts in the story.

Book Review I read the book Absolutely Invincible by Canadian author William Bell and I found the book pretty good. The story was dull and simple through out most of the book. It just involves a small group of school kids, who just happen to be cripple, trying to prove to everybody that they can do things that normal kids can do if they try hard enough. Now there are some exciting events that happen in the story. Such as the scene where a group of kids called the Black Ones tied one of the main characters named Hook to his motorized wheelchair and sent him flying into the fence. As the chair was heading towards the fence, the chair ran over a rock and changed course towards the road where at that time a school bus full of kids was pulling out onto the road. His best friend George saw the chair heading for the road and he darts for Hook's chair and pulls him out of harms way to safety. I really liked the type of format the author used in the story. George keeps having this dream that he can't remember much of and because of that he has trouble remembering things he did. When the author introduced this dream at first I was confused, but later on the author made George remember a little more of his dream as the story progressed until the very end of the story where he finally remembers the entire dream, which is about his past. I don't know who to recommend this book to because although the book was okay I was not really interested in the book. I am a real horror buff as well as action books. Well, if I have to recommend this book to someone out there, I would have to recommend this book to the teen generation. If are interested in real life situations involving ordinary people with disabilities trying to prove to people that they can accomplish the same things as people without disabilities and experience a few complications along the way, then this is the book for you. I hope you enjoy this book, happy reading. By Dwayne Collins

I think that this book is the book is the best book ever
By A Customer
Absolutely Invincible is the best book that I've read in my whole life. My reasons being is, the four main characters stuck together no matter what. For example, when they went canoe ridding onto an island, then they saw it was going to rain they left the island as fast as possible. When they started to paddle back to the beach waves started splashing water into the two canoes. That made it hard for them to paddle. Hook came up with an idea by tying the two boats together. This helped them a lot. But when a big wave hit the two boats, the jeans ripped and Anie lost balance and fell into the water. When Heather saw this she immediately went after her, and when Hook saw that Heather was having a hard time bringing Anie to the canoe he went to help them. Now that sticking together. My second reason is that I liked their reaction, e.g. when Anie almost got raped by the Black Ones, George saw this and went to help her by beating them up. The reaction that George had by going to help Anie was good because, when Hook got beat by the Black Ones George couldn't do noting. My last and final reason is that I didn't like the way the book ended e.g. I didn't know what happened to George's father and his little sister Spring. Now that part made me feel not reading the book anymore. The author kept me reading because of George's dreams that he kept having. And because of these dreams I wanted to know what the dreams meant. I wanted to know where the dreams would let him. Mine recommendations of who should read this novel is, people who like to read and for people who would give it a try. I think that this book is also for people who have gone through something like this before. People who don't like to read should give it a try I think that they will like it and maybe if they try to put their self in that kind of sittuation. I should know cause I don't like to read either and guess what, I liked it.

I love this book,it is very interesting.

Book Review
My overall impression of the novel Absolutely Invincible is that it is very interesting but also strange. I think it is interesting because of all the four characters none of them have a friend that is "normal." The four main characters are friends for each other, and all of them have a disability. This makes for exciting character development throughout the book. I also think these characters are strange in the sense that they are unusual. Their disabilities often mean they behaved strangely or have strange characteristics. For example, Hook has a hook for a hand, George cannot remember the past, Heather is deaf, and Amie is blind. They all find creative ways to deal with their personal challenges. This is something I will discuss later in this review.
One writing technique the author used was George's dreams. I think this technique was successful since it kept me in suspense. Sometimes, too, I wondered if he was dreaming or remembering. These dreams hinted at future action. For example, one dream tells of one of George's sisters stepped on a bomb and died. This told the reader he is remembering things about his family and his past. Later in the book, the reader learns that his sister is really still alive. In almost every chapter, there was a dream. In a way, George's dreams were a story by themselves. This unified the book and teased me to read ahead.
I recommend this book to teenagers. It is a good novel that tells you no matter what your challenges in life are, no matter who you are, you can succeed. It also shows you not to "judge a book by its cover;" not to judge people by their outward appearances or physical abilities. In the book, The Black Ones ( a gang) beat up on members of the Cripple Club just because they are different. One of the gang members even tries to rape Amie. None of these gang members thought about the feelings of Hook, George, Heather or Amie. Just because these friends have disabilities doesn't mean their feelings should be shoved aside, or should they be treated like outsiders. I learned to find out who people are inside, what they're like inside their hearts, before I make a judgement about who they are. I don't want to end up regretting misjudgments of people, like The Black Ones did in Absolutely Invincible.
